Bathroom and kitchen renovation

The challenge

The owners were living in the house while the work went on, so it could not be left without a bathroom or a kitchen for more than a few days at a time. They also wanted to replace the bath with a shower tray flush with the floor.

The solution

The work was planned in two phases: first the bathroom, with a temporary WC set up in the utility room, then the kitchen, with a temporary food-prep area in the dining room. The slab was recessed to set the shower tray flush, services were renewed and the kitchen was vented out to the courtyard to meet current regulations.
